Snow Day

With a major Nor’easter taking aim at New England this week, it makes me think about some of the different emotions people are experiencing tonight.

Children and teachers full of excitement with the thought of a ‘snow-day’, parents anxiously scurrying around to ensure their kids have extra snacks, fun activities and day care accommodations, and the dread in the eyes of the first responders who know they will be facing unimaginable calls in the next few days.

There are people who can and will take the time to slow down and enjoy the excitement of a snow day. They will stay in their pajamas all day, binge-watch the latest TV show and disconnect from reality – even if just for a few hours.

Lastly, there are some fortunate enough to work for great companies and are offered the luxury of working remotely during storms. All they need is a laptop, the Internet and their UCx connection to be as (if not more) efficient at home as they would be in the office. This makes employees happy; knowing they do not have to worry about driving during a storm or falling behind in their work. This makes bosses happy; knowing their staff is safe and not missing a beat.

Whichever type of Snow Day you have planned, we hope you make the best of it.
