DSCI’s MPLS VPN Service provides secure site-to-site connectivity over a private IP network and allows for convergence of data, Internet access, voice and video. MPLS VPN provides the same level of security as traditional WAN services, with the added benefits of a meshed network, centralized services, and equal access to all endpoints. MPLS can be configured without the complexity and cost of maintaining private lines or virtual circuits between multiple locations. Routing updates are done automatically as new sites are added.
The optional MPLS Secured Internet Gateway provides Internet access to all the MPLS VPN sites through a single, centralized firewall, improving reliability and reducing costs. Smaller sites and mobile users can connect back to the corporate network through the MPLS Secured Internet Gateway using standard IP VPN clients or devices.
When MPLS is converged with voice services, separate voice and data circuits do not have to be maintained which can result in substantial cost savings. MPLS is flexible, and handoff can be made to voice services such as POTS lines, PRI, or digital PBX trunks, or next generation SIP trunks for customers with DSCI’s iPBX Hosted Communications Service or an IP-capable phone system.
DSCI’s Extended Network Services expands the reach of the MPLS IP-VPN service to over 600 cities in 60 countries on 6 continents.
